- 1.5 cups of water
- 1 cup of brown rice
- 4 pounds. source of protein (I used 1 lb ground beef and 3 lb ground pork)
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 large apple (cubed)
- 1 cup kale (chopped)
- 1 large sweet potato (cubed)
- 2 large carrots (cut into pieces)
As with most slow cooker recipes, this one is very easy to prepare. It takes me about 15 minutes to carve out all the fruits and veg in this recipe, and that’s all the work you need to do.
Simply add all the ingredients to your slow cooker and stir the dog food every now and then while cooking. You can cook this recipe for 4 hours on the âhighâ setting or 7 hours on the âlowâ setting.
As I explain in my video guide, I typically use frozen meat in my slow cooker recipes. It saves me time to thaw the meat and it won’t change the taste or texture of the food at all. Just add about 30 to 45 minutes to your cooking time if using frozen meat.
