Delicious Baby Food Recipe: Easy-to-Cook Carrot Fries


These oven-baked carrot fries are my favorite type of vegetable side dish: they’re easy to make – just slice them up – they cook in about 20 minutes, and there’s no need for stirring or maintenance. . Oh, and they’re totally delicious.


Older babies and toddlers tend to like roasted vegetables because their natural sugars caramelize in the oven, giving them a slightly sweet flavor.

Plus, they’re easy to hold for little hands and have a soft texture that new eaters will appreciate. We of course love them soaked in ketchup, but they’re also quite delicious on their own.

They don’t always get crispy like real fries, but that never seemed to matter with my little one.

Easy Baked Carrot Fries

Ingredients:

  • 6-8 medium carrots, cut into matchstick-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

1. Place the sliced ​​carrots on a large rimmed baking sheet and toss with the olive oil and salt. Spread as evenly as possible (this will help them get a bit crisp in places, which makes them really delicious).

3. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until just starting to brown and have a soft texture.

4. Serve with your favorite dip.

Variants:

Add a pinch of cinnamon or cumin to add extra flavor.

Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of honey (if your child is over a year old) before roasting to add extra sweetness.

Use rainbow carrots for more color.

Remarks:

Cooking time will depend on the thickness of your slices, so try to make sure they are cut as evenly as possible to avoid some getting too dark before others are done. For 3-4 people
